Anyone that knows the landlord knows how much he loves getting out on the bank and whiling away a few hours trying to catch fish. Those people will also know that, as a relative beginner, he’s pretty cr*p at it and needs as much help and advice as he can get! The idea behind the Sally Angling Society is that once a month, likeminded fishermen and women can meet up and share a few pints, trade tips and tell tall tales about the ones that got away. It doesn’t matter what style of fishing you do; course, carp, predator, sea, or fly, or how good you are, from Bob Nudd to Bob Mortimer. The aim is to have a few relaxed pints, make new friends, learn a few things and become a better angler. Hopefully if things go well, we’ll have fishing outings, talks and presentations and maybe an informal “catch” or more likely “blank of the month” competitions! The Sally Angling Society will convene at 8pm on the third Thursday of each month. See you there!
